She might have been First Lady of the United States for 8 years and have a best selling book, but to her mother, Michelle Obama just isn't a "real star".

Obama later posted the screengrabs to Instagram and noted that she'd shared the texts with her Phoenix audience.

Somebody who didn't appear to be overly impressed by the cameo, though, was Obama's own mother, Marian Lois Robinson.

"To Ms Obama's assertion that she is a real star, she only had an unconvinced 'Yeah" to offer.
