Toro Rosso's new lineup will be experienced Russian Daniil Kvyat, who was both promoted and dropped by the team before securing a comeback seat, and British-born Thai newcomer Alexander Albon.

Red Bull has joined its junior team in using Honda power units from 2019 onward, resulting in the two teams sharing more parts through Red Bull Technology.

Toro Rosso are the second team to break cover on a 2019 challenger for the coming Formula 1 season, having presented the STR14 to the world on Monday.

"Nothing has changed in terms of the design process of laying the vehicle out, we just have a few less variables to play with", he said. "However, within the framework of a fixed amount of available resource, this can provide an opportunity as it allows more focus on other areas of the auto concept which in turn can bring performance".

"As is always the case before the start of a season... we don't want to set a specific target - at least not now", said Toro Rosso Team Principal Franz Tost.

Toro Rosso revealed their STR14 yesterday and are ready for winter testing to begin on February the 18th.

Mitchell is a hothead, let's make no bones about it, but I actually think his presence has helped to calm Eddie Jones down.

But the Red Bull junior outfit, who finished ninth last season, do have an all-new driver pairing in Daniil Kvyat and Alexander Albon for the upcoming campaign.

"I enjoyed my time working with Ferrari, which helped me keep in good shape and in touch with what is going on in Formula 1 on the technical front", said Kvyat, who tested Toro Rosso's 2018 auto during the post-race Abu Dhabi test.

"If I was a dictator, which I never was, I would take the FOM money and give - to just name a figure - $60 million to each team". They know what they're doing. I think we're looking good and I feel that everyone is motivated and focused.

After the loss of technical director James Key to McLaren, Toro Rosso has made a decision to form a stronger partnership with its parent company Red Bull. "I just want to get in the auto and see what happens".

Kvyat's team mate is newcomer Alexander Albon, who finished third in Formula Two a year ago behind fellow 2019 F1 debutants George Russell and Lando Norris.

"If you start setting long-term goals, you just put unnecessary pressure on yourself".
