Masanori Taki, better known by his stage name Pierre Taki, was taken into custody Tuesday evening on suspicion of cocaine use.

Pierre Taki, an actor and musician was arrested after police received tips and searched his vehicle and domicile.

The Mainichi News reports that 51-year-old Taki confessed to using a small amount of cocaine, and police are now searching for further evidence.

The move comes as Taki was arrested on drug charges after testing positive for cocaine. Possession or use of cocaine in Japan carries a prison sentence of up to seven years. Investigators were first tipped off about the actor's drug use over a year ago, and are now searching his phone to learn more about the extent of his drug use.

With the intensity of social stigma surrounding drug use in Japan likely providing pressure, SEGA has opted to not only halt sales of the game, but also delete tweets surrounding it.

"The arrest of Pierre Taki, who is featured in our company's title Judge Eyes, is something we find deeply regrettable".

As soon as we hear more, we'll let you know. In fact, Sega has already had to deal with this before, removing an actor from Yakuza 4 following cocaine allegations.

Taki plays the role of Kyohei Hamura in Judgment.

SEGA is still considering next steps, though it would be hard to completely replace Taki at this point, considering the game was released a year ago in Japan.

Judgment is due to be released in the United Kingdom and other countries in June. With latest developments, it is unclear if Sega will delay the worldwide launch. IGN has contacted Sega for comment.
