Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have come to an agreement on a long-term contract extension. Instead of calling his bluff, the Seahawks gave him what he asked for.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter's sources, Wilson's celebration is much-warranted, coming in response to having secured the most lucrative contract in the National Football League: "a four-year, $140 million extension that includes a $65 million signing bonus" that "makes the quarterback the highest-paid player in the National Football League". His average annual salary of $35 million eclipses that of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whose contract signed in 2018 pays him an average of $33.5 million annually.

Russell Wilson is sticking around with the Seattle Seahawks as the highest paid player in the NFL.

"Hey Seattle, we got a deal", Wilson said.

The following season, he was promoted to Genk's second team, for whom he scored five goals in one half of a game. Harry Winks will come back in and play with Moussa Sissoko while Christian Eriksen will play further up.

"I'm going to see y'all in the morning".

Wilson's contract expires at the end of this season. It will be even more so on Seahawks' front office to build a team around Wilson that he can lead back to the promised land. They have two first-round picks this year thanks to the OBJ deal and should have no problem throwing in one more for one of the three NFC quarterbacks who won a Super Bowl in the past eight years. He has averaged 28 touchdown passes and has a career passer rating of 100.3 while being named to the Pro Bowl five times. Wilson reportedly got a record $65 million signing bonus as well. The Seahawks will have to be creative and bold in filling in the team around Wilson, and that will start with figuring out how to keep linebacker Bobby Wagner and defensive end Frank Clark in the fold.

The 5-foot-11 Wilson threw for a career-high 35 touchdowns and matched his career low with seven interceptions. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Seattle presented an offer around 11:30 p.m. Monday night. "Your dedication, consistency, and commitment to the game never wavers". With that around the corner, Wilson and his agent, Mark Rodgers, set an April 15 deadline for a new deal.

"I know he's my husband and of course you're gonna think the world of your partner, but I really do believe he's one of the best ever to do it, and it's really cool to watch him on his journey", Ciara continued. "I'm excited about that", Wilson said.
