Texas to kick off in primetime on WBRZ

OR and Auburn will kick off the Advocare Classic at 4:30 p.m. PT Aug. 31 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas as ABC's Saturday Night Football broadcast. Defending national champion Clemson at Syracuse on September 14 will fill that spot in Week 3. Football season can't come soon enough.

These two teams haven't faced each other since the 2010 BCS Championship game, which Auburn won 22-19.

The appearance on Saturday Night Football, which has been broadcast since 2006, will be just the second time in Syracuse's football history that it will play in ABC's marquee slot. In week 3, the Clemson Tigers travel to Syracuse, the last team not named Alabama to defeat the Tigers.

ABC's Saturday Night Football is in its 14 season and feature's one of college football's marquee matchups each week during the season.

Both Texas and LSU are coming off wins in New Year's Six bowl games - Texas in the Sugar Bowl over Georgia and LSU in the Fiesta Bowl over UCF. The Orange was also one of Clemson's toughest games past year, falling 27-23 on the road. The following day ABC will air title games for the American Athletic Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference and Big 12.
