Kroger Latest To Join List Of Major Retailers Selling CBD Products

The Kroger Co. will begin selling products containing CBD oil at some of its Kentucky stores in the coming weeks.

CBD - or cannabidiol - is derived from the cannabis plant and can be used to relieve pain and anxiety.

Kroger is reportedly getting into the CBD business.

Besides Wisconsin, Kroger will sell CBD creams, balms and oils in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Washington and Wyoming, according to the company.

"Our limited selection of hemp-derived CBD topical products is from suppliers, which have been reviewed for quality and safety", Lowrie continued.

"CBD is a naturally occurring and nonintoxicating compound that has promising benefits and is permitted within federal and state regulations", Kroger said in a statement.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed a law legalizing hemp production and certain CBD products in the state of Texas.

A representative for the grocery chain said Tuesday that the products will be available at 89 stores in the Hoosier State by the end of June.

They say prices will range from $3.99 to $59.99 and brand names have not been made available.
