The console will come preloaded with an initial handful of retro-like games, including R-Type, New Adventure Island, Ninja Spirit, Ys Book I & II, Dungeon Explorer and Alien Crush. Numerous games on those systems, though, have been re-released in myriad forms for many different platforms over the years. "More than that however, the consoles became a collector's favorite thanks to their quality games line-up; many of which will be included in this re-release".

While the TurboGrafx-16 mini will release in North America, variants called PC Engine Core Grafx and PC Enging mini will hit Europe and Japan, respectively.

The PC Engine Core Grafx Mini will be released in Europe, with the TurboGrafx-16 Mini coming to the U.S., and the PC Engine Mini headed for Japan.

We don't have any pricing and availability info as yet. The console has a smaller form factor than the original so that it fits in the palm of a hand. Furthermore, there is the possibility to save progress at every point in a game and multiple screen formats are supported.

Konami has announced it is joining the nostalgia-fuelled miniature console market with the PC Engine Core Grafx Mini - styled with a lower-case "m" - for the United Kingdom market.

The TurboGrafx-16 was the first home console to have a CD-ROM attachment, something we take for granted now. From the name you might guess this 80s vintage console re-hash is based upon the PC Engine, also known as the TurboGrafx-16 in the USA. This version had a built-in screen and speakers, among other things.
