Rafael Nadal Gets Emotional After His 12th French Open Title

In his post-match interview, the world No. 2, who dropped only two sets en route to his 18th Grand Slam, admitted he "could not explain" such lofty statistics, saying: "My feeling for me is it is a dream".

"I had issues with my knee and surgery on my foot, so many issues in the last 18 months that have made the last few weeks very special".

However with a dominant performance on Sunday, it looks Nadal who is now ranked number 2 in the world will continue to play for quite a few years more, provided he can stay injury free.

Nadal's two Wimbledon titles came in 2008 and 2010. "Not even 24 hours later, I have to step on court against another fantastic legend of our game, against the best clay court player of all time", Thiem said. "But you want to see the passing of the torch while they are still in their prime", added Becker, who won Wimbledon at the age of 17. "The experience says that having the right preparation then, practicing well, and maybe a couple of matches, I don't know, before there".

Since Nadal won his first title at Roland Garros in 2005, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Marin Cilic and Juan Martin Del Potro are the only players to have broken the big three's dominance, and all have now passed their 30th birthdays. And as everybody knows, I am not able to play so many weeks in a row like I did 10 years ago, eight years ago.

"I played a great event past year". He said: "I have had a very hard year with a lot of physical problems". He won't enter a grass-court tuneup event, figuring that time off to rest is what he needs more than anything else. The Spaniard was yet to find his rhythm, facing two more break points in game six and repelling them with good serves before Federer wasted the third opportunity with a massive forehand error that would have cost him a lot. "I could stop for a while and recover or change my attitude and recover".

"Of course, why not?" he said. Why not? He's too good to not be a contender in any tournament he plays. What he was performing I think is unbelievable, really.

‘Russian Doll’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix
It's little wonder why Netflix handed Russian Doll a second season: the fanbase is strong and wide, and response has been near-flawless.

"I want to follow my own journey, give myself the best opportunities, and give myself the possibility of competing at the highest level". Nadal didn't seem too focused on that though, he was more keen on enjoying his current success.

"I am not very anxious about this stuff", Nadal said.

Federer, who will be 38 in August, played dazzling tennis to reach the semi-final before Nadal and a Parisian gale did for his hopes of a record-extending 21st Grand Slam title.

"You can't be frustrated all the time because the neighbor has a bigger house than you, or a bigger TV or a better garden".

"So I just try to be positive, to be intense, and to be passionate about what I am doing". I have been able to be very close to win another title there.

Nadal saved two more break points before finally bringing the game home after a service victor to level the score at 3-3 and build his confidence.
