The Belgian global scored twice as they beat Scotland 3-0 in their EURO 2020 qualifier in Brussels on Tuesday, and speaking afterwards the former Chelsea and Everton striker revealed his future is up in the air.

If Lukaku does leave then the Red Devils will definitely miss his goals and so Solskjaer will have to replace him adequately.

The pair share an agent, Federico Pastorello, and hope a deal can be reached although United are unprepared to lose Lukaku cheaply and would want to recoup their £80 million investment in order to sanction a sale.

It is obvious that his reputation has taken a hit in the Premier League and his confidence, at club level, is pretty much at an all-time low.

United are prepared to listen to offers for the Belgium worldwide but want to recoup the transfer fee they paid Everton in the summer of 2017.

Asked after Belgium's 3-0 Euro 2020 qualifying victory over Scotland, whether he expected a hectic summer, Lukaku replied: "Yes, I think so".

'People close to me, they know I have two leagues that I always dreamed about, which is the Premier League and the Serie A, so you know, I love Italy.

'I am going to enjoy my holidays with my family now.

Lukaku's incredible goalscoring record with his country has continued, leading many to feel his problems are simply with United. "I have my decision and stay outside".

Those stats don't tell the whole story and the fact that Marcus Rashford is now starting ahead of him at United shows Lukaku that his future lies away from Old Trafford. We'll see. If I expect a busy summer?

'I have a contract with Man United.
