"Russian Doll" was co-created by Natasha Lyonne, Amy Poehler, and Leslye Headland.

The streaming giant has renewed the critically-acclaimed series for Season 2, which will consist of eight episodes.

"It's such a personal show for me, it's very autobiographical, especially in the sort of thematic sense". When Nadia sets out to unravel the mystery of her time loop, she meets a man named Alan (Charlie Bennett) stuck in a similar loop to her, and the two journey deep into their own emotional states as they seek out answers.

It's little wonder why Netflix handed Russian Doll a second season: the fanbase is strong and wide, and response has been near-flawless. Lyonne stars as a NY woman who becomes caught in an endless loop of attending her own birthday party only to die and repeat the night over and over again. Headland revealed to The Hollywood Reporter in a January 2019 interview that she, Lyonne, and Poehler actually pitched Russian Doll to Netflix as a three-season series.

Cadence of Hyrule, a Zelda-flavoured musical action game based on indie hit Crypt of the NecroDancer, will be out on 13 June. Between that, we're still quietly hoping we'll see something wonderful from Animal Crossing too.

Lyonne and Netflix's Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland made the announcement confirming the second season today at Recode's Code Conference.

So is there more to tell in Nadia's story, or will she serve as just one piece of a larger anthology series? The more you guys this can be, the better.

"Want to do a Season 2, Natasha?" The first season works so perfectly that the idea of bringing it back for more potentially seems like flirting with disaster, and there are plenty of questions about where exactly the series will go after its satisfying season one finale.
