The Raptors will be taking on a Warriors squad without Kevin Durant, who injured his Achilles, and potentially Kevon Looney, who aggravated his chest injury in Game 5.

The fan sent flowers to the Warriors' offices addressed to Durant with a card.

"Dear KD and Warriors: I can't even believe those dumbass Raptors fans cheered when they saw you were injured". I was watching the game and felt terrible, it was a total disgrace.

It has been speculated for months that Durant could be headed to Madison Square Garden to join the Knicks, and ESPN's Jalen Rose believes that Durant's injury should have no impact on the Knicks' summer plans.

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant glances up at the stands as he walks off the court after sustaining an injury during first half basketball action in Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Toronto, Monday, June 10, 2019. "You just know. And I've been there".

The Warriors' reported offer to Durant would have included "the understanding that if he wanted to leave at any point during his contract the team would grant him that wish", as Isola phrases it, but it's not clear how that would work. "$31.5 million for next season, that's really if you couldn't find any other team to commit to you on a contract".

But a few days later, the tree was nowhere to be seen , having disappeared into quarantine. The oak tree was first planted in the garden of the White House a year ago .

There was plenty of grief to go around in the wake Golden State's miraculous but costly Game 5 win. He was diagnosed with a mild Achilles tendon strain the following year.

The issue with Durant is what kind of diminished asset would the Knicks be bringing in and if his injury will prevent another star such as Kyrie Irving or Kawhi Leonard from joining the team. If Irving knows the chances of playing with Durant are remote, maybe he considers staying in Boston, where the chances of winning are higher than in NY.

Wojnarowski added that he would be "shocked" if the Warriors were not still willing to sign Durant to a long-term extension, which makes opting into the final year of his current deal even less likely.

Durant went down in immediate pain and did not return to the game.

"Emotionally, it's a little tough for him", Wanda replied.
