Louie Barry's performances for West Brom's youth teams had caught the attention of some of Europe's top clubs and Barcelona have won the race to sign the 16-year-old.

Barry's deal with West Brom expired last month and he had drawn interest from Barcelona, PSG, Bayern, Manchester United and Juventus.

"(Barry) is an worldwide with the English Under-16 team, for whom he has played nine games and scored seven goals.

Birmingham-born Barry, 16, had been with the Baggies since he was six and turned down the offer of a professional contract with the Championship club.

Cancellation of Minaj Saudi concert stirs online anger
The post amassed more than 15,000 comments within the first hour, as fans pleaded with the rapper to reconsider her decision. In the post, the singer described her changes in the schedule of concerts and apologized to her fans from Saudi Arabia.

But it is Barça who have secured his signing and on Thursday made the announcement of the player who will now be part of the Juvenil A side having signed a three-year contract.

Although West Brom will understandably be disappointed and frustrated to lose one of their academy graduates who potentially has a huge future they will also see this as an opportunity in which Barry has been unable to turn down.

Camp Nou giants Braca confirmed that Barry, who celebrated his birthday in June, had put pen to paper after passing a medical.
