The move to add its branding to both WhatsApp and Instagram is significant in that it shows that Facebook is finally freeing itself from those restrictions. This is also the case with Facebook-owned Instagram, where it will be rebranded to "Instagram from Facebook" with the tag already appearing on the settings panel of the app. But one thing is for sure, Facebook is trying to generate more revenues from WhatsApp by introducing ads. Facebook will rebrand both the apps as "Instagram from Facebook" and "WhatsApp from Facebook".

"We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook", is what a Facebook spokeswoman had said. The same was spotted in app version 106.0.0.24.118.

Facebook had purchased WhatsApp in the year 2014 however till now it has not boosted its own name with the messaging app. The feature has been made available after seven months of it being available for iPhone. According to sources, with the help of the latest security feature, a person can unlock WhatsApp by merely using the conventional fingerprint sensor. Once updated, you can enable the feature by heading to WhatsApp Settings Account Privacy: Fingerprint lock. It will only be activated on your device if you haven't signed up or aren't using the WhatsApp Android Beta app. If we combine the number of users of these all platforms, there would be over a billion users. Android users do however have a new option. Even after enabling the fingerprint lock feature, Android users will still be able to answer WhatsApp calls and reply to messages from notification, as per WABetaInfo, the online platform that tracks the new changes on the instant messaging app, as the authentication is only required when you want to open WhatsApp.
