England has appointed Jeetan Patel as its bowling consultant for tours in South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Patel, who was part of the successful five-game win over England's IT20 series over New Zealand last month, has announced his retirement from Cricket Wellington. He is now representing Wellington in New Zealand's Super Smash T20 competition and is set to play his last game for the franchise on 18 December against Central Districts. He made his debut for Wellington, the city of his birth, in 2000. With age, he has grown more consistent, adding extra elements to his bowling.

Former New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel has earned him a good name as an off-spinner during his playing days.

Patel, who is contracted as an off-spinner at Warwickshire, finished the County Championship this year with 64 wickets at 26.75. He became, most observers believe, a far better all-round cricket long after the bulk of his global career was complete, though he did make a brief reappearance in the New Zealand side in 2016 and 2017. Feisty and competitive on the pitch, Patel gained a reputation as a positive, nurturing captain at Warwickshire.

Their next assignment against South Africa consists of four Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.

He may even play a major position throughout England's Take a look at tour of Sri Lanka beginning in March 2020 when Joe Root's aspect performs a two-match Take a look at sequence as a part of the ICC World Take a look at Championship.
