Former 'America's Got Talent' Judge Weighs in on Gabrielle Union's Firing

Association and individual judge Julianne Hough left "America's Got Talent" a month ago.

"NBC and Fremantle productions have responded to the controversy, saying in a statement: "'America's Got Talent" has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show. I had my own problems with the network. "And she's not gonna go along to get along either". Former judge, Howard Stern recently spoke out against Simon Cowell on his Sirius XM Radio show.

Leno, a Season 14 guest judge, was mentioned in the Variety report and was pressed by the paparazzo about a joke he reportedly made during a taping.

According to reports, Union, who is black, sought action to address an environment she said allowed racist jokes, comments and notes from producers along with other troubling behavior, including judge-producer Simon Cowell's smoking indoors. Stern appeared on the show for 4 seasons, Mandel has now done 6 seasons.

NBC said in a statement to CNN on Monday they are working with Union to "hear more about her concerns". Implicating Cowell in Gabrielle's departure, he said: "He [Cowell] sets it up that the men stay no matter how ugly [the men] are, no matter how old they are, no matter how fat they are, no matter how talentless they are".

A source told Deadline: "Gabrielle believes there is a toxicity that has become normalised at Talent".
