He joined Everton from Barcelona for £18m in August 2018, a week after Richarlison arrived from Watford, also signing a five-year contract.

The Brazil global has made 55 appearances for the club since following Marco Silva from Watford previous year, scoring 20 goals and claiming four assists. "This was the club which gave me the opportunity to show my football", he said.

The man who brought Richarlison to Everton may not be long for the club, but the Brazilian star forward's future is set at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are one of 11 clubs who have managed only four wins out of 14 matches, but their eight defeats have left them one spot above the relegation zone with 14 points. "The supporters have a lot of affection for me and I try to give back all this affection as much as possible on the pitch".

Richarlison, 22, made his global debut for Brazil two months after joining Everton and now has 19 caps.

The player is happy to stick around at the club, saying he owes it to the Toffees to try and reach his potential at Goodison.

And while the player has credited Silva for helping him develop, Richarlison isn't resting on his laurels.

"He has my trust and the trust of the whole group".

"And I hope they continue singing my name".

"Now it is time to continue the focus and to make the fans happy".

British media reported Silva's position would be discussed by the club's hierarchy on Monday, two days before the Merseyside derby at Premier League leaders Liverpool.
