After Debate, Warren Told Sanders: 'I Think You Called Me A Liar'

Warren was seen after the debate refusing to shake Sanders' hand after Sanders was asked during the debate whether he told Warren that a woman could not win the presidential election. Anybody who knows me knows it is incomprehensible that I would think that a woman could not be president of the United States, ' the Vermont senator said in the debate.

Ms Warren stood by her account and said it was time to confront the larger issues of sexism in politics. GQ writer Julia Ioffe saw a parallel between Sanders fans who summarily dismissed Warren's retelling and those who discounted claims of sexual harassment brought by women.

In an exchange caught on camera after the debate but unable to be heard by the television audience, Sanders responded to Warren that it was she who had called him a liar.
