Wendy Williams Issues Apology & Reveals Donation Plans Following Cleft Palate Comments

Adam Bighill and his son were both born with bilateral cleft lip and palate. "Cleft lip, cleft palate" while continuing to hold her finger in the position that was meant to imitate the medical deformity.

For a solid 10 seconds, she mimicked a split lip with her finger while the audience laughed. "I might have anticipated extra from somebody like @WendyWilliams that has personally face derogatory, inappropriate feedback and physique language to be extra empathetic or at the very least respectful", the Twitter consumer wrote.

An American footballer campaigns for the TV host to apologize.

. "And the people who watch that show are going to be able to realize that we are all part of ending bullying, we are all part of it, and that will be a great message to go out to everybody as well".

The apology comes after the presenter appeared to mock the actor and people born with cleft palates.

Now, Williams has issued an apology via her Twitter account, and urged her viewers to educate themselves more about the "cleft community".

This isn't the first controversial moment Williams has had on her show.

Her comments and actions were branded "disgraceful" and tantamount to bullying after she made cruel remarks on the Oscar-winning actor's "Cleft lip'". It wasn't Reese [Witherspoon] who kept me, it was him. One fan was shocked to listen to these phrases coming from Wendy, who has been the goal of unkind feedback herself.

It took five days for Williams to apologize for her comments.

"We're thinking about Beau today", Williams wrote on her Twitter, tagging Bighill, "as he is in surgery. I want to apologise to the cleft neighborhood and in Beau's honour, our current is donating to @operationsmile and @AmerCleftPalate and encourage our Wendy Watchers to review further and help assist the cleft neighborhood", she tweeted.

Bighill accepted his apology and gift: "I forgive you and encourage others to do the same".

Bighill used social media without mentioning it to have a positive effect.
