Through the new focus point layout and the use of a triple-sensor arrangement for each focus point, the D6 achieves AF coverage that is approximately 1.6x denser than that of the D5. "But you can control the D6, and this DSLR will deliver incredible shots of defining moments - without fail", claimed Nikon UK's Robert Harmon.

The Nikon D6 is Nikon's flagship DSLR, but it's built for speed above all else, plus durability, reliability and handling, especially with Nikon's high-power super-telephoto lenses. This appears to come at the cost of the video features and impressive drive speed that its main competitor, Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, showcases. Please keep in mind that this only includes the camera body, though. "The world relies on photojournalists and professionals to document every corner of the globe through impactful images; Nikon cameras are trusted to stand up to any job and help photographers capture the shot, time and time again".

Endless Lens Choices: By pairing the D6 with Nikon's extremely diverse selection of F-Mount NIKKOR telephoto lenses, professionals have the most advanced imaging solution in Nikon's history.

Group AF now supports up to 17 custom focus point arrangements that users can pre-set depending on the subject they're shooting, and something called "expanded focus detection range" increases the detection area for single-point and dynamic area AF so you can still nail focus even if your subject drifts outside your focus point.

The D6 comes with a new EXPEED 6 image processor, a 14fps mechanical shutter with full AF and AE, and can shoot completely silent at 10.5fps.cFOr faster frame rates, the D6 is able to take 2MP images at around 60fps and 8MP images at 30fps in Live View mode.

Nikon has also added a bunch of workflow enhancements for the pros.

The 20.8MP sensor has been created to produce crisp, flawless shots even with high ISOs that, like the D5, can range from 100-102,400 natives to an incredible 50-3,280,000.

When it comes to capturing video, the D6 is limited to a 4K shooting at 30 fps. Fifteen of the more centrally located points are accurate to F8, and the center point can focus down to -4.5EV. Ethernet connectivity has been given a 15 percent speed boost, there's built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Global Positioning System has also been included for tagging images with time, date and location information, wherever in the world you might find yourself.

Additionally, the D6 supports Wi-Fi, USB Type-C and has two CFExpress card slots. Digital camera (DSLR) maker Nikon has launched the flagship digital camera D6 for action and sports photographers.

The D6 is due to land in April for a body-only price of US$6,499.95.
