Manchester City vs Liverpool FC predictions ahead of crunch Premier League clash

Well, Liverpool have won more Premier League games against reigning champions than any other side in the competition's history (21). That could be an ominous omen for Liverpool heading into the crunch contest at Anfield.

The Reds are aiming to go one step further than they did last season and win the Premier League title after having finished a point behind Manchester City last term.

"A draw would see Liverpool maintain their six-point lead over City while Pep Guardiola's side would surely settle for a point with Aymeric Laporte out with a long-term injury".

Liverpool have still yet to finish above the English champions in Klopp's four seasons in charge, but the gap was down to a single point as City edged a titanic title race last season.

In the summer, he said, Liverpool didn't make signings because the players who would improve a team that took 97 Premier League points and won the Champions League are too expensive.

Sterling can not be faulted for a sloppier start to the season by Guardiola's men after two near-perfect campaigns. This morning I saw a goal he scored here against Man City... it was a nice one as well!

But he will be between the sticks again come Sunday, with Guardiola confirming in his pre-match press conference, quoted by the club's official website, that he has every faith in Bravo's ability. He's strong the day after the game, he could play another game.

Erdogan: Turkey captures slain IS leader al-Baghdadi's wife
She was said to be the "first wife" of the IS leader, who was killed in a United States special forces raid in Syria last month. He added: "Similarly, we also captured his sister and brother-in-law in Syria ", he said in a speech at Ankara University.

Sterling's input at both ends of the field will be key if City are to somehow halt Liverpool's momentum and inflict a first league defeat at Anfield for the hosts since April 2017. Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip will be asked to regulate chances on Alisson's goal, the goalkeeper still searching for his 2018/19 season form.

Now they have the flawless opportunity to press home their advantage against a City side further weakened at the back by an injury to goalkeeper Ederson.

City must avoid defeat at Anfield to stop Liverpool edging one step closer to a first Premier League crown, with another tough fixture against Chelsea on the horizon after the global break.

"Not that we did it all together, we all didn't throw the bottle or whatever it was, but it was one of us".

"Just now it's about consistency but he has shown in the last 12 to 18 months that he is able to be that consistent".

"The home players probably get a little bit more [from the Anfield atmosphere] but even if it's against you, you are at the top of the world, playing the best level".
