Amazon workers stage strike on Black Friday

This year marks a decade since Black Friday was launched in Britain by Amazon, and shoppers bought 2million items in 2018 on that day alone.

But the GMB union has said the "eye-watering profits" the company makes off the back of Black Friday mean it should pay its seasonal and permanent workers more.

The company has long resisted the union's call for labour negotiations, defending its work environment and insisting that is "one of the best employers in the logistics industry".
