Breaking down 49ers playoff outlook after Week 13 loss to Ravens

Seattle used 17 unanswered second half points to come away with a big 37-30 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. Presumably the reason that Goff is passing more is due to the lack of confidence in the Rams running game.

It took barely 2 minutes for Minnesota to pull within 34-30 as Cousins connected with Kyle Rudolph for a 3-yard touchdown and another brilliant one-handed catch by the Vikings' tight end. Ham that ended the Vikings' chance at a comeback - played a big part in giving the Seahawks the upper hand.

With the loss, the Vikings' record falls to 8-4 and they are now one game behind the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North. Minnesota's lead over the Los Angeles Rams for the final playoff spot in the NFC falls to just one game with Monday night's result as well.

Seattle's win over the Vikings was arguably the toughest challenge head coach Pete Carroll and Co. have until wrapping up the regular season at home against the Niners.

"(That's) a little motivating factor to get his body right", Heaps said. Pete Carroll and his team are a ideal 6-0 on the road this season with a notable, big, win over the San Francisco 49ers. "If some teams lose and we keep winning, some things can happen". They will continue to run the ball against the Saints, but this will open up the play action game for Jimmy Garoppolo to go to work. Between now and then, the Seahawks visit the Rams and the 5-7 Carolina Panthers before hosting the 3-8-1 Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.

Like Cousins said, for as many plays as there were that allowed them to climb back in it late, there were several that contributed to their narrow defeat.

The Rams have two top ten receivers in the NFC this season. Sunday's victory was the first time they won with execution from every position group.

Speaking of sacks, Hunter is just one-half sack short of being the youngest player in National Football League history to reach 50 career takedowns.

The Rams defense rebounded from its poor showing against the Ravens and shut down the Cardinals.

"We were able to run the ball extremely well", Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson said. He had a season-low 66.2 passer rating in a loss to the Seahawks.

"Our running game has been a staple of our offense". Brady and the New England offense will need to bounce back after struggling against the mediocre Texans defense. "We'll have some further updates on what exactly that means in terms of his status and how we'll exactly handle that", McVay said.
