Ron Rivera believes he will 'coach again' after being fired by Panthers

Rivera became the Panthers head coach back in 2011 and has achieved an overall winning 76-63-1 regular season record and a 3-4 postseason record.

Newton revealed in September that he sustained the injury in the Panthers' first preseason game and hid the severity of it from his coaching staff.

Now he'll be making that impact in a different city - perhaps it will be in Washington, the team whose Week 13 victory over the Panthers may have been the straw that broke David Tepper's patience, or perhaps he will reunite with Dave Gettleman in NY. "For me to have that type of presence, it just reminds me's right", he said, according to ESPN. Rivera, who guided the Panthers to a Super Bowl appearance, leaves Carolina after nine seasons in charge.

Wednesday morning, Rivera met with the Carolina media - an unusual move for a coach just fired, which speaks to his standing within the organization even though owner David Tepper decided it was time to choose his own coach. It may be that Rivera is overqualified to coach a team like the Redskins, but they'd better at least try to get him to fill that position. Days before entering mediation at the Australian Federal Circuit Court on Monday, Folau had hiked his compensation claim for lost income and sponsorship from A$10 million to A$14 million (US$6.8 million to US$9.5 million), and reiterated his demand to have his contract reinstated. But they were great.

In a vlog the quarterback released in September, he shared that he had to see for himself that playing at less than 100 percent was not acceptable.

Fowler went on to emphasize that the Panthers would never trade Newton within the division, so the Saints would only be a possibility if the quarterback were to be released. He wanted to get a couple of things off his chest.

He met with Rivera and Hurney about his health following the second game of the season vs. Tampa Bay.

Newton visited with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson last month, and the decision at that time was he would not have surgery.

This season the 30-year old will have missed more games this season than in his previous eight seasons combined (five previously).

The foot injury shut Newton down this year after an 0-2 start.
