Disney Couldn't Stop Leaking of Original Star Wars' Episode IX

The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams returned and gave us The Rise of Skywalker, a film that has received much criticism for supposedly retconning Rian Johnson's narrative decisions in The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is Disney's seventh billion-dollar grossing films from 2019.

Star Wars is happiness number 7 for Disney. Otherwise, what's the point?

Before J.J. Abrams signed on the helm the final chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was set to write and helm the conclusion of the Skywalker. Fans should just want to read good stories featuring their favorite characters, especially if it's someone as revered as Luke Skywalker.

Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. For example, the entire story of Episode 9 was doing the rounds three months before The Rise of Skywalker arrived in theaters, and key story details on the game Jedi: Fallen Order leaked nearly a year before release.

As in the movie, "Ben is extinguished", but not before it is revealed that he killed Rey's parents on Snoke's order.

Still, neither Colin Trevorrow nor Lucasfilm has as of yet confirmed the script's veracity, so as enticing as some of its plot points may be, keep in mind to take it with a big heaping Crait-sized grain of salt. Coruscant is occupied by the First Order, and the Jedi Temple there becomes a major plot-point in the script. Like Luke trained with Yoda, Kylo trains with Tor Valum and goes into a cave to confront his light self-the part of him that felt love, just like Darth Vader did.

The Force Ghost of Luke speaks to both Rey and Kylo Ren. It's very clear the Kylo is meant to be a completely unredeemable villain, but I'm not sure how that works into the balance of the force or the end of the Jedi. But as you might have imagined, this movie crossed that milestone significantly more slowly than the previous two entries in the Skywalker saga. But in this version, Kylo finds a Sith Holocron left for Darth Vader by Palpatine.

Luke's ghost also hangs around Rey.

This version of Episode IX does seem to build a lot more on the promises and ideas in The Last Jedi than the movie we got.

There are plenty of other tantalizing things in Duel of the Fates.

- Leia didn't die in Duel of the Fates. In Duel of the Fates, Rey being a nobody was thematically important to her entire arc.

The ride opens with Resistance recruits receiving their orders from BB-8 and Rey in a briefing room, before they're hurled into space on a transport ship on a secret mission with ace X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron by their side.
