'Smash Ultimate' Next Fighter DLC to be Revealed in Direct this Week

Super Smash Bros. fans should tune in this Thursday, 16th January at 2pm United Kingdom time for a 35-minute livestream. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai will reveal the fighter in a new video that's scheduled to premiere on Thursday, January 16th. Players choose from a large pool of playable characters and then battle it out in various stages as they knock each other off the screen. Sakurai has done this with past DLC characters like Banjo-Kazooie and Terry Bogard. Is this hinting that Dante will be joining the fight?

If a character has appeared in a video game which has been released on a Nintendo platform, then they are eligible; now our favourite Nintendo characters which we'd love to see are Wart from Super Mario Bros.

The good news is that the new Nintendo Direct is being streamed at a great time for UK-based fans to watch. Or more of a safe bet being that this could be the last DLC character we'll see coming to Super Smash Bros. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate feels like one of the best written love letters to gaming that there has ever been, the care and attention given to each of the games represented is incredible.

Smash Bros. has often felt a bit like it was trying to do too much and while it has always been a fun series, the disparity between the fighting game and the party game didn't always mesh well.
