Mobile family plans will include Quibi free for one year

Are you going to try Quibi when it launches next week?

T-Mobile has long lined up special deals and freebies to entice customers to use its service, and the telco already offers its customers a free Netflix subscription bundled into a T-Mobile monthly bill.

Quibi, the mobile-focused streaming service from Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, launches on Monday, April 6.

The company has emphasized that its shows will stand out among short-form content found on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube because they are professionally produced by major Hollywood talent. Quibi is the first entertainment platform designed specifically for your phone and will feature an entirely new library of original content from stars like Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, Chance the Rapper, Liam Hemsworth, Sophie Turner, Lena Waithe, Nicole Richie, Reese Witherspoon and more.

Quibi itself is offering a 90-day free trial to anyone.

Quibi officially launches on April 6, and when it does, T-Mobile customers will be able to get a year of the service absolutely free. Customers can sign up until July 7th to have Quibi added to their plan for free.

One other thing to keep in mind about this deal is that customers will get both Quibi and Netflix free, but only for one year.

Quibi claims that it started developing Turnstyle back in September 2018, and it was recently granted a patent for some aspects of the feature.

Quibi had confirmed last October that a deal with T-Mobile was in place, in statements made to various news outlets.

The T-Mobile and Sprint merger is complete, and T-Mobile is celebrating with a free Quibi subscription.

"T-Mobile customers have always been ahead of the curve - streaming more data, watching more mobile video - so when we first heard about Quibi, we knew our customers would love it", remarked Mike Sievert, President and CEO of T-Mobile. "It comes on the scene with a totally different experience, made for mobile, quick to watch and as entertaining as anything you've ever seen".

"Quibi will deliver premium video content for millennials on a technology platform that is built exclusively for mobile, so a telecommunications partner like T-Mobile, with their broad coverage today and impressive 5G road map, is the flawless fit", said Quibi CEO Meg Whitman in a statement. Episodes will clock in at under 10 minutes, and the service's ad-supported tier will include non-skippable preroll ads that will be no longer than 15 seconds long.

And, in addition to Quibi, T-Mobile customers also get access to the first and only nationwide 5G network at no additional cost.
