Alongside the fund's announcement, Sony shared that in order to encourage more PlayStation users to stay indoors, they were making both Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey available as free digital downloads on their digital store.

Sony is encouraging people to stay at home as directed, having launched a nifty #PlayAtHome campaign involving free games.

The game drops players in the middle of the desert with a simple task of reaching a mountain in the distance, aided by other players, with the unusual twist that you can't text or chat with your game partner, communicating only in chimes and by activating visual signals in the game. Of course, many of you may already have claimed these games as part of previous PlayStation Plus promotions, but you should still redeem them and we're going to explain why in this article.

The company recently unveiled its Play At Home Initiative, a movement to help keep gamers occupied while they're sheltered at home in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. In our review, we said "Missing bells and whistles aside, these three exemplary games have never looked or played better than they do here, so whether you've played them before or not, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection should be in your library". There's no need for any additional subscriptions or PlayStation Plus access.

It is worth noting that PlayStation's current reduction in download speeds is still in effect, "but we appreciate the understanding from our community as we take these measures in an effort to preserve access for everyone".

Apple's upcoming macOS update can help prolong your MacBook's battery lifespan
Of course, you won't notice any difference on the battery level indicator available on the status bar of your MacBook. Apple warns that turning off Battery Health Management might reduce the lifespan of MacBook batteries.

But with at least several more months set to be spent at home around the globe, now is as good a time as any to escape into the life of a globetrotting treasure hunter.

Players will be able to download the title from April 15th until May 5th.

The initiative comes alongside a $10 million pledge to help fund independent game developers going through financial hardships.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection consists of three games - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
