OPPO's insanely fast 125W charging will become official on July 15.

The smartphone market keeps evolving including demands for fast charging. This 125W fast charging tech is then expected to most likely juice up a phone with the same battery in less than 15 minutes.

These days, fast-chargers and its accompanying fast-charging technology have become a staple for a variety of smartphones, with the highest charging rate now peaking at 65W. The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and sports a triple setup with a 48MP main sensor.

No word on whether fast-charging leads to faster battery degradation or overheating, but we haven't heard of any widespread issues with Oppo or iQOO's previous smartphones.

Vivo is not too far behind for this fast charging technology.

We really do not count on Oppo to announce a new smartphone showcasing 125W speedy charging on July 15. However, we could get a timeline as to when the tech will launch commercially. Maybe we could see it in action in Realm's next 5G smartphone with the rumoured Snapdragon 865 Plus SoCs and mostly in China we could expect the launch. He added that it could charge a 4,000mAh battery to 33% in just 3 minutes which is insane quick.

In its current, fastest guise - 65W Super VOOC 2.0 - it can fill an entire flagship smartphone battery from 0-100 per cent in just over 30 minutes. He had tweeted an image which showed 11660mA current rating suggesting the charging speed to be nearly 120W.

The branding of the charging technology along with its name is yet to be specified.

Even so, we hope suppliers like Oppo and Vivo work out all these difficulties just before bringing their rapid charging methods to the sector. We'll preserve you up-to-date as and when we know additional about their designs.
