Joe Montana Confronts Alleged Kidnapper of Grandchild at Malibu Home

So it's no surprise the Hall of Fame quarterback was willing to do the same for his family.

In a very scary story which thankfully had a happy ending, National Football League legend Joe Montana and his wife, Jennifer, stopped a home intruder Saturday evening after that intruder had briefly taken hold of one of the Montanas' grandchildren.

Now 64 years old, Montana is out here acting the part of a hero off the field.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that a 39-year-old woman entered Joe and Jennifer Montana's Los Angeles-area home through an unlocked door at around 5 p.m. on Saturday.

At that point, the suspect allegedly saw a woman holding a baby, grabbed the child and walked to a different part of the house.

In a stroke of good fortune, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies happened to be nearby handling an unrelated matter.

Montana was known for his 1979 to 1994 National Football League career.

She has since been charged with kidnapping and burglary, TMZ Sports reported.

TMZ Sports reports that the woman entered the home through an unlocked door and ran from the house following the incident with Joe Montana.
