The MAC is returning to play in November of 2020, sources told Yahoo Sports, which means that all 10 FBS conferences will be playing college football this fall. The MAC was the first major college football league to postpone its season because of COVID-19 and the last to jump back in.

"Our decisions, in August and again today, have been guided by an overriding concern for the well-being of the student athletes, institutions, and the community at large", said MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher. As a result, our Conference's medical advisors have established comprehensive protocols and procedures to safeguard our student-athletes during practice and competition."This is a developing story". The MAC will instead open its season November 4.

Conference officials also added that tailgating or the general public's attendance would not be allowed at the games. The complete set of protocols will be released next week.

MAC presidents voted Friday unanimously to resume the football season. The league is now planning to play in the fall after initially postponing the season over COVID-19.

After the announcement, the MAC's twitter account released a statement.

At the time Lewis said the team would be better.

Miami of OH won the MAC championship game in 2019.

This decision will only impact the football season; the rest of Kent State's fall teams are still now expected to play in the spring when their championships have been set to take place by the NCAA Division I Council.
