Fans are in an uproar over this Black Ops Cold War mode

Activision recently developed Black Ops Cold War's new 40-player game mode called Fireteam.

Zombies Onslaught is a "fast paced" two-player survival mode in which players face "a seemingly unending" and progressively more hard "horde of zombies" while they are forced to move through multiple locations on a given map, according to the post.

Update: Oct 23, 11:33am CT: The mode has now been made official by PlayStation. For their efforts, those two players will earn exclusive rewards. By the time the mode heads to other platforms, most will already be moving on to whatever next year's Call of Duty ends up being.

Will Xbox users get it?

The standard edition of the game can be played cross-platform via backwards compatibility, but the cross-gen bundle, which is slightly more expensive, ensures you'll receive the next-gen version once you buy the new console.

Wallace is the only Black driver in the Cup Series and this season used his platform to push for racial equality. NASCAR racer Bubba Wallace will be sporting a new number and vehicle while racing with a new team in 2021.

Judging from the trailer, it looks as though this mode will be similar to Modern Warfare's Spec Ops Survival mode, which was also PS-exclusive. That same mode was also exclusive to PS4 for the duration of an entire year.

The mode will see two players going to different locations inspired by story and multiplayer maps. Activision and PlayStation partnered up for Call of Duty since 2015, and has consistently given PlayStation users exclusive content or early access to things like DLC and betas.

Of course, that release date is after the arrival of the Xbox Series X and PS5 in the USA, but gamers in Europe have to wait until 19 November for their PS5s, making it a choice between paying more, or waiting a few extra days.
