Henderson injury confirmed by Southgate

Liverpool fans have been left frustrated after Sky Sports reported that Jordan Henderson is set to miss their game against Leicester City this weekend.

Liverpool captain Henderson was replaced at half-time in England's 2-0 defeat by Belgium on Sunday after feeling tightness in his leg.

Henderson withdrew from the England squad on Monday while Robertson's chances of making Sunday's top-of-the-table clash has been boosted by his inclusion in the travelling squad for Scotland's Nations League game with Israel on Wednesday.

"Andy was probably a little bit worse than the rest, which is why I left him out".

Asked by Football Insider whether he was surprised Liverpool were not planning to bolster their ranks in January, Whelan said: "Unless they know something we don't about these players coming back in that key area of central defence then they don't seem to panicking about it and they feel they've got enough in their Under-23s to cover until that time".
