On Sunday afternoon, Environment Canada issued a wind warning for London, Parkhill, Strathory, Komoka and parts of Middlesex County.

It said Saturday that strong winds, gusting up to 90 km/h, are forecast for Sunday afternoon and evening. Power outages are possible, while damage to roof shingles or building windows may occur.

High winds have left some 200,000 people across Ontario without power Monday and forced the closure of three rural schools in the London region after a major windstorm the day before.

There is particular concern about the winds along the shores of the Great Lakes, and in particular the north shore of Lake Erie.
