US President Donald Trump says he is a "realist" who will follow the constitution after all legitimate votes are counted but is waiting to see how US states proceed in certifying their final election results, a top confidant says.

But Newsmax would be open to giving Trump his own weekly show once he has left the White House, Ruddy said.

A Wall Street Journal report claimed that private equity firm, Hicks Equity Partners, was planning to acquire Newsmax's cable channel.

"Newsmax never had any deal with the Hicks group, and if it's true they were using our name for the purposes of capital fundraising, that is wholly inappropriate", Newsmax chief executive Chris Ruddy told the paper.

Earlier this month, Fox News CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, said that the network has "always thrived with competition ..." "That something might be the potential launch of a new Trump News Network".

In turn, Trump has re-posted a number of TV channel's clips on his Twitter page, while often simultaneously admonishing Fox. The WSJ reports Newsmax's average prime-time audience jumped 156% to 223,000 viewers during the week of the election, according to Nielsen data, and last Thursday crossed one million from 7 8 p.m., about half of Fox's audience during the time period.

"The conservative TV channel crossed the 1 million-viewer mark on November 12 between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. â€" for comparison, Fox News averaged nearly 6 million viewers for the week starting November 1. One of Hick's son also co-chairs the Republican National Committee.

"I have spoken to him on and off through the past three years, because we travel in political and social circles", Ruddy said. It's nothing unusual for us to have a conversation, ' he said.

Newsmax TV was started in 2014 by Ruddy, a friend of Trump and member of the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach.

After Fox News called Arizona for Biden, several White House aides and Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser and the president's son-in-law, called to contest the projection.

The sign read, "Coming for Blacks & Indians first welcome to the new world order", and was seen being held by a man participating in Saturday's MAGA protests being held across the U.S. following Trump's election upset.

Kushner reportedly phoned Fox Corp. "We will be supportive of whoever the next president is". "Fox isn't working for us anymore", Trump tweeted at the time.
