Very few details are known concerning the shooter of the number of those injured.

After the suspect walked into the Duck Creek Kitchen + Bar, he headed toward a waiter station - which is open to the public - and allegedly shot and killed two employees at close range with a 9mm handgun, Delain said.

Kevin Pawlak said investigators believe the gunman was seeking a specific person he was angry at.

Webster said the casino is connected to a large hotel and conference centre, the Radisson, also owned by the Oneida Nation.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation is taking over the investigation, according to Oneida Nation officials.

"The situation is under control and the community is in no further danger", said Oneida Nation Vice Chairman Brandon Stevens on social media.

Pawlak wasn't sure if the shooter was a former employee of the restaurant, but said "it appears there's some relationship that had to do with employment".
